What Notion AI is
Notion AI is the set of AI features inside Notion workspaces. Notion lists Notion Agent (which completes multi-step tasks using context from Notion, connected apps and the web), AI Meeting Notes, Enterprise Search across connected apps (marked Beta), Research mode and Custom Agents for recurring work.
Who it is for
Notion’s AI page says it is “designed for teams”. Its plans are described as Free for individuals, Plus for small teams and professionals, and Business for growing businesses.
Notion pricing as of October 28, 2026
- Free: $0, with a trial of Notion AI.
- Plus: $10 per member a month billed yearly, or $12 billed monthly. Includes a trial of Notion AI.
- Business: $20 per member a month billed yearly, or $24 billed monthly. Lists Notion Agent, AI Meeting Notes and Enterprise Search (Beta).
- Enterprise: custom pricing.
- Custom Agents: free to try, then $10 per 1,000 Notion credits.
Notion’s AI page says Business and Enterprise members get 1,500 Standard credits and 500 Select credits a month, and that the amount may vary by plan and purchase arrangement. On data, it says Notion AI does not train on your data unless you opt in, with 30-day retention at model providers outside Enterprise and zero retention for Enterprise.
For comparison, Rill has two plans on the web: Rill Essentials, $2.99 a month, and Rill, $15 a month. What each includes.

Being fair
Where Notion AI is stronger
- A shared workspace: pages, databases, teamspaces and permissions that a whole team builds in, with AI that works across them.
- Search across connected apps such as Slack, Google Drive and GitHub (Enterprise Search, listed as Beta).
- Custom Agents that run recurring work for a team, with usage and analytics dashboards and admin controls.
- Certifications: Notion’s AI page lists SOC 2 Type 2 and ISO 27001, and HIPAA support for Enterprise. Rill’s Security and Privacy pages do not list these.
Where Rill differs
- Where things come from. In Rill you do not build pages or databases first. Voice notes, photos, PDFs and forwarded email are kept as they arrive, then read and filed; on the Rill plan, so are texts.
- Documents. A photo of a receipt is read for its merchant, date and total. On the Rill plan, a booking confirmation, bill, warranty or policy is filed with its numbers, dates and amounts.
- Choosing what AI reads. Rill has privacy levels note by note, Keep from AI, and a Vault whose notes are encrypted on your device before they leave it, with Rill’s AI answers, assistant and agents off for them.
- How it is priced. Notion charges per member with a monthly allowance of credits. Rill has two plans, Rill Essentials and Rill, shown on the pricing page.
- Moving between them. Rill can bring in Notion pages and connect to a Notion account. Notion can export pages as Markdown and CSV, and as PDF or HTML.
Choose Notion AI if: Your team already works in Notion and you want AI that works across its pages, databases and connected tools.
Rill’s features are the ones on the features page; a line marked Rill plan is part of the Rill plan, not Rill Essentials.
