What Mem is
Mem calls itself “your AI chief of staff”. It has two parts. Mem Workspace is for notes, meetings and ideas. Mem Agent, which Mem says builds a picture of your tasks, projects and goals from what you save, steps in when something needs you.
Who it is for
Mem’s pages are written for founders and solopreneurs, consultants and advisors, executives and managers, and content creators.
Mem pricing as of October 28, 2026
- Free: 25 messages to Mem and 25 new notes a month, with 3 hours of Voice Mode.
- Mem Plus: $9 a month. 50 messages, 50 new notes a month and 10 hours of Voice Mode.
- Mem Pro (marked Recommended): $29 a month. 100 messages, 100 new notes a month, 25 hours of Voice Mode, one custom routine and one connection.
- Larger Pro plans run from $49 to $199 a month, with higher monthly allowances.
Mem’s prices are monthly; its pricing page lists no annual price. Its plans are measured by monthly allowances, such as messages, new notes and voice hours.
For comparison, Rill has two plans on the web: Rill Essentials, $2.99 a month, and Rill, $15 a month. What each includes.
Prices change. Read them on Mem’s own page: Mem: pricing and FAQ.
Being fair
Where Mem is stronger
- Mem Agent is built to act on its own timing: Mem says it decides when a nudge will help, then reaches out with the context and a next step. Rill’s Drift brings a past note back only when you ask.
- Mem offers Push-to-Remember on Mac and Windows: hold a shortcut in any app and speak, and the thought goes to Mem Agent.
- Mem says it detects tasks and projects across your notes automatically, and that it listens in meetings without a meeting bot.
Where Rill differs
- Privacy. Mem’s pricing page says your data is encrypted at rest and in transit but not end-to-end encrypted, because Mem needs to process your notes, and that Mem does not sell your data. Rill’s Vault is the other design for chosen notes: they are encrypted on your device with your passphrase before they leave it, and Rill’s AI answers, assistant and agents are off for them. Rill never sells your data or trains AI models on it.
- Sources. Rill’s answers number their sources, and each source opens at the exact passage it came from.
- Documents. A photo of a receipt is read for its merchant, date and total. On the Rill plan, a booking confirmation, bill, warranty or policy is filed with its numbers, dates and amounts. The Mem pages we read describe notes, meetings, saved pages and connected apps.
- Ways to reach it. Mem lists WhatsApp and email as ways to message it. On the Rill plan Rill is also reachable by SMS, and a phone number of its own is an add-on.
- Taking your notes out. Both let you. Mem says exports are one click, as Markdown files. Rill downloads JSON, Markdown and links to your files, on every plan.
Choose Mem if: You want an assistant that keeps watch over your tasks and projects and reaches out on its own timing.
Rill’s features are the ones on the features page; a line marked Rill plan is part of the Rill plan, not Rill Essentials.
