Terms of Service
The agreement between you and us. Short, specific, and written to be read — if a clause protects us, it says so.
Last updated October 8, 2026.
Who you are agreeing with
Rill is operated by Lukens Holdings, LLC (“we”, “us”, lukensholdings.com). By creating an account or using Rill you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
You need to be at least 16 years old, and old enough to enter a contract where you live.
Your account
You are responsible for what happens under your account, including keeping your sign-in details to yourself. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access.
One account is for one person. You may use it on as many of your own devices as you like.
What you are paying for
Rill has a free plan and paid plans. Paid plans and add-ons — including Agents — are billed monthly or annually in advance through Stripe. Prices are shown at checkout before you pay, and that price is what you pay for that term.
Some features are metered in credits. Your plan includes a monthly allowance, and you can buy more. Purchased credits do not expire while your account is active; the monthly allowance does not roll over. Credits are not currency, have no cash value, and are not refundable once spent.
Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time and keep access through the end of the term you have already paid for. We do not pro-rate a partial month.
If a payment fails we will tell you and try again before anything changes. If it keeps failing, the account drops to the free plan — it is not deleted.
Refunds
If Rill is not what you expected, write to us within 14 days of your first payment and we will refund it. Beyond that we do not usually refund, but ask — if something went genuinely wrong on our side we would rather fix it than argue about it.
Where local consumer law gives you stronger rights than this, that law wins.
Your content stays yours
Everything you capture is yours. We claim no ownership of it. You give us only the permission we need to run the service for you: to store your content, process it to provide the features you have turned on, and show it back to you.
We do not sell your content, and we do not use it to train foundation models.
You can export everything at any time — a full archive, in a format you can read without us.
What AI does here, and what it does not
Rill uses AI to transcribe, organise, connect, and resurface what you capture. AI output can be wrong. Treat what Rill tells you as a starting point, not as fact, and check anything that matters — particularly anything medical, legal, or financial. Rill does not provide medical, legal, or financial advice.
Rill describes what it finds in your own material. It does not promise an outcome, and nothing in the product should be read as a claim about your performance, memory, or health.
Agents act only when you say so
Rill Agents can prepare work and, when you allow it, take actions such as sending an email or creating a calendar event. A new agent always starts in approval mode: it proposes, and nothing leaves your account until you tap approve.
You can deliberately switch an individual agent to act on its own. That is a real handover of authority, we warn you plainly at the moment you do it, and from then on that agent’s actions are your responsibility. Every action an agent takes is recorded, and you can switch it back at any time.
Connecting other services
When you connect an account — email, calendar, storage, a social profile — you authorise Rill to use it in the ways that connection describes, and you can disconnect it at any time. Those services have their own terms, and we are not responsible for what they do.
When Rill does something on a website for you, it follows that site’s own terms for AI assistants, and checks them before every step. Where a site does not allow it, Rill tells you, and offers to call the business or give you its own booking link instead. How this works, and how we protect your data, is on our Security page.
Using Rill fairly
Do not use Rill to:
- break the law, or help someone else do it;
- upload other people’s personal information you have no right to hold, or record anyone where recording them is illegal;
- attack, overload, probe, or reverse-engineer the service;
- resell Rill, or run someone else’s product on top of it, without our written agreement.
We may suspend an account that is doing serious harm to other people or to the service. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you first.
If your account ends
You can delete your account yourself at any time, from the app. That cancels any subscription.
When a paid account lapses or you cancel, we pause it rather than erasing it: your data stays available to download for 90 days, we remind you before the deadline, and only then is it permanently deleted. A deletion you request yourself is immediate and cannot be undone.
Changes to the service and to these terms
We will keep improving Rill, which means features change. If we make a change that materially reduces what you already pay for, we will tell you before it takes effect and you can cancel and be refunded for the unused part of your term.
If we change these terms we will post the new version here with a new date, and tell you by email when the change is significant.
The service is provided as it is
We work hard to keep Rill running and accurate, but we cannot promise it will never be unavailable, never lose a beat, or never be wrong. Rill is provided without warranties beyond those the law requires.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it arose, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability for fraud, or for anything that cannot legally be limited.
Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose. The export button exists for exactly that.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before starting any formal dispute, write to us — most things are solved in one email.
SMS Terms
Program. Rill text messages, from Rill, operated by Lukens Holdings, LLC. Text Rill from your own phone to ask questions about your Rill account and have it draft things for you. Rill replies to the messages you send it, asks before sending anything on your behalf, and tells you when a task you asked for is done. We do not send marketing texts.
How you join.In the Rill app, Settings, Text Rill, you tick the box agreeing to receive Rill text messages, then send a one-time code from your phone to Rill’s number. Rill replies with these terms in brief, and your number is linked only when you reply YES. Linking is never a condition of buying anything. The full sign-up and every message Rill sends are on the Text Rill page.
Message frequency varies with how often you text Rill and what you ask it to do. Message and data rates may apply.
Reply HELP for help. Reply STOP to opt out at any time; we confirm once and send nothing further. Help is also at support@hellorill.com.
