Writing and thinking in notes

For people who think by writing: notes, drafts, ideas in progress.

Write in a real editor, link notes to each other, and see the themes across them on a map. When you want a second opinion, ask Rill to push back, with every counter-point sourced.

How it works

Step by step

  1. Write a note with headings, checklists and tables; link it to related notes with [[links]].

  2. Open Constellation to see the themes in your notes and how they connect.

  3. Ask a question across your notes and follow the numbered sources back.

  4. Turn on What am I missing? if you want it, and ask it about a draft or a decision.

What it uses

The Rill features behind it

  • A note editor with checklists, tables, callouts and pictures, and [[links]] between notes with a list of what links here.

  • Saved views, Collections, and a Constellation map of the themes in your notes.

  • Answers number their sources, and each source opens at the exact passage it came from.

  • What am I missing? An optional critical partner, off until you turn it on. Every counter-point cites a note of yours or a web page.

  • Your Mind: your own words, when you capture, and the highlights you saved, each with its source. Nothing is inferred about you.

Features are on the web today. Plans are Rill Essentials and Rill; a line marked Rill plan is part of Rill, not Rill Essentials.
