Moving from Evernote, Notion or a read-later app

For anyone bringing years of notes and saved links into one place.

Bring in an Evernote export with its attachments, a Notion or Obsidian export, and your read-later list. Notebooks stay notebooks, tags stay tags, and PDFs open as PDFs.

How it works

Step by step

  1. Export from Evernote (.enex), Notion, Obsidian, Bear, Logseq or Roam and drop the file on Rill’s import page.

  2. Bring in your bookmarks or a Pocket, Instapaper, Raindrop or Pinboard export; you see what is in it before anything is saved.

  3. Browse the Library by notebook, tag, type or date, and open each item as itself.

  4. Let smart tags and smart folders suggest some order, and keep or remove what they suggest.

  5. Download everything again at any time.

What it uses

The Rill features behind it

  • Bring your notes in: Evernote (.enex, attachments kept), Obsidian, Notion, Bear, Logseq, Roam, a folder of Markdown, and Kindle highlights.

  • Bring in browser bookmarks (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) or a Pocket, Instapaper, Raindrop or Pinboard export. Rill shows what is in the file before anything is saved.

  • Notebooks and stacks, nested folders you put in your own order, and tags.

  • A Files view: an outline of every place, the list as rows, cards or a sortable table, and the item open beside it.

  • Items open as themselves: a PDF as its pages, a saved web page with its own pictures, a note with its headings, lists and tables.

  • LibraryRill plan

Smart tags chosen from the tags you already use, and smart folders that fill themselves: Receipts and expenses, Bills and subscriptions, Warranties and insurance, Travel and tickets, and more. Keep, remove or undo any of it.

  • Download everything at any time, on every plan: JSON for the data, Markdown to read, and links to your files. If a plan ends, everything stays readable for 90 days, then it is deleted.

Features are on the web today. Plans are Rill Essentials and Rill; a line marked Rill plan is part of Rill, not Rill Essentials.
